Do these old Lionel train tracks and transformer have value?

When i moved into my house a few years ago, left behind was a train track setup (no trains) and an old Trainmaster Type KW Transformer in the corner. Can you tell me whether the tracks and transformer are worth keeping/selling? I’d hate to throw out something that is useful to someone else. Thanks.

Hi, Mrenticon!

There are definitely people out there that would be interested in these items.

Although it is really the engines and cars that are of value, the basic track pieces and transformers are also sought after.

I’ll try to find a site for “Lionel train collectors”.

If I don’t get back yo you I’m certain there are train collecting magazines and such with a classified ad section.

I’ll see what I can do. Definitely don’t chuck this stuff. Somebody out there would enjoy having it!
