Do I need to wait in the long border lineups to visit peace arch park at Blaine/surrey?

I want to meet my friend at peace arch park… I live on the Canada side and she lives on the Washington side. We’re just going to the park to hang out for an hour or so, will either one of us have to wait at the border lineups? (never been there before)

actually, at one time you could visit peace arch park without going thru customs as long as you stayed in the confines of the park. . It was a friendship thing between US/Canada that allowed just what your talking about. I dont think its allowed post-911 tho… I think you have to go thru the actual border.
