MTH O Gauge Train Realtrax track, Can it be washed?

I track for my sons Realtrax MTH O Gauge trains. It's great because it is robust and with the plastic roadbed. In his young age, it is perfect. However, it is very dirty. The black stuff that will accumulate rather chaotic. I wipe it with Goo Gone and get it clean, but I would really scrub it down. Can I use this in the sink and give them a good washing? I know I would have immediately dry and then wait a while until they dry, but was asked if this would do anything wrong? I noticed that most of the black glop comes from the drive wheel, as it is worn, may have occurred. I can not train without the traction wheels? I know I would not have so much traction, but for a simple oval track, I'm not sure I would need it. He runs rarely more than 2-3 buses.

Not a problem, the title of your sink a good scrub. Do not use abrasive cleaners, only water and soap. You can gently use some 0000 steel wool, simply on the track crown / top, to assure a good electrical connection to the engine. Not sure about it runs without the traction wheels. Wingman
