Rose of Sharon Tree?
I have 6 Rose of Sharon trees that someone dug up and put into pots. They are only 1 long branch. They have no limbs come on the sides, just a long, straight shoot. How can I cut them so that they a little more bushy at the top? They are so long and straight, that they bent be over pretty bad. They are only about a cent nickel thick …. what should I do?
You can trim them to the desired height, they tend to hurt. If they have small knots or bumps on it tries to trim only slightly higher than the bumps and believe me, they will definitely be tons of branches growing from the top below. CLIP only get off new growth into the desired shape. I keep my about 6 feet tall and in a round bushy shape up.
